Second Annual Spring Recital 2002

On Sunday, April 14th, 2002 my students participated in a recital at the Youville House Assisted Living Residence in Cambridge, MA. Nine brave adult students performed by themselves, in smaller groups and a final group piece at the end of the show. It was a learning experience for everyone involved - from controlling the shaky bow to remembering what string to start on! Everyone walked away with another performance under their belt, and for you performers out there, it does get easier each time.

I thought it would be a good place to try out my new digital camera so I roped Maureen (a student's wife) into taking some shots. I also captured some pictures of the group rehearsal we had the week before. Many of the students had never played their instruments with other people, so it was an incredible experience for them. They were no longer alone! They could blend! They had harmonies to contend with! And they had other people to commiserate with.
