I recently got in touch with an old friend of mine. We had lost contact, time passed - you know how that goes. Before I knew it I didn't know how to contact him.

I got an email from him a few weeks ago and I couldn't stop smiling. I was brought back to the days when we were close. Freshman year of Oberlin - almost ten years ago. We emailed back and forth a bit, fell back into a pattern. It was good to hear that he was doing well.

He said something funny about my website that I thought I'd share - he said he felt like he was stalking me a little because he knew so much about my life through my website, yet hadn't spoken or written to me! I thought about that and found it really funny because this is a friend who knows me. This is a friend who can come back into my life comfortably almost without skipping a beat and read up on what he's missed in the last couple of years. This website is somewhat of an archive of my life!

I told him I feel completely comfortable having him peruse my site to learn about what I'm up to. But it struck me as kind of cool that he could catch up like that. Not like my website completely reflects what I'm up to - gotta leave something to the imagination.

So if you're reading this now, my friend, you too are going down in the history of www.meredithcooper.com. Yet another chapter.
