Why does the summer go by faster than other months? Being in Boston, the winter goes by the slowest for me. Seems like it's cold forever. The spring arrives but keeps falling back into winter until finally it's really just time for summer.

In the summer you want to use your time wisely - you don't want to waste time on the weekends because there are so many outdoor opportunities. But since I've moved to my new apartment, one of my favorite summer pastimes has been just sitting on the porch. No new Friends episodes to miss, no fear of the wind chill. A nice cold beverage and hopefully a breeze and you've got yourself a great evening.

When fall arrives you are damn ready for it to cool down but not ready for the winter to show up. You've just gotten used to getting out the door without a jacket and it would be awful to go from that physical freedom right into freezing temperatures where you need a jacket which almost acts like a person surrounding you.

Fall is by far my favorite season. Jeans weather. Reminds me of going back to school, fresh from the summer vacation. Reminds me of going back to college and seeing all my friends again. The air is crisp, humidity down and spirits up. My students are excited about learning in the fall because it's the "learning season," which I suppose dates back to school days. And New England is gorgeous and colorful and it's still warm enough to sit on that porch.
