Matt and I are looking into getting a kitten! We think Dexie, our chocolate-colored, crazy cat who is twelve but acts like he's
three, would enjoy having a cute little kitty around to keep him company. For those of you who know Dexie, can't you see him
chasing a kittie down our long hallway and cuddling with him/her in his bed underneath the table near the heating vent? Plus, when
we go up to Vermont or NYC for the weekend we think it would be great for Dexie to have some company. Then we wouldn't come
home to find him whipping his "Angry Tail" at us, but instead, he'd be happy playing and cuddling with his new companion. Maybe
he'd even get in touch with his fatherly side. That is if he has one.
I've been researching cats and kittens and have found helpful info on the Purina website.
As I read the questions and answers I laughed out loud at times at the personal stories of kitties. Then I began to get excited
about adding another member to our basement apartment family! I looked down at Dexie, who was sitting right by me, and I got the
sense that he suspected something. Would he like the new kitty? Or would he be jealous and annoyed? You never know with cats
OR with Dexie.
I also checked out About.com's information on cats
and found links to great sites like Cats Magazine. I also
came across Petfinder.com's website, which allows you to search for adoptable cats through
shelters in your zip code. I wasn't sure how updated this was but it was encouraging that there were kittens looking for a home.
So the bottom line is: Does anyone know of someone who has a pregnant cat or a very young kitten in the Boston area?
If so, email me. Also, email me if you find any cool cat/kitten websites I should check out.
